This package is best used for recreational activities that require more range between radios (compared to the Close-Range Family Package). These radios are also a great choice for variable terrain (hills, bluffs, cliffs) and thick foliage (brush and heavily-wooded areas).

Covers longer range than FRS-type radios
These are not compatible with FRS-type radios
Uses VHF frequencies
Capable of being programmed with Marine-Band frequencies
